No invention has ever influenced the management in an Organization as the IT mechanism has shown its resultant effects during the last more than seven decades of its existence. Information technology management is a fast-growing field. Companies are always looking to upgrade their knowledge technology. For IT management to be successful, it must be perceived as an interactive business process capable of providing organizational learning throughout the lifecycle of the technology. However, even when IT is managed successfully, the question arises, as to what role IT plays in the achievement of organizational strategic goals and objectives. In response to this question, it is postulated that the proper role of IT in an organization is usually epitomized as a fit or alignment with the strategic goals of the organization. Therefore, IT can only be appropriately aligned when infrastructure put in place to implement the IT strategy is adequate; the strategy supports the organization’s strategy and business processes.

Information and communication technologies have become critically important area in the advancement to the global society. Not least because we increasingly sleep in a divided world and in an increasingly divided society, but the information and communication have played  pivotal roles for the  development of a society. Technological advancement during the previous couple of decades has transformed global society into an information society. Today, quite ever, ICTs are recognized as means for sustainable human, social and economic development.
Many developing countries have accepted ICT as a national mission within an overall 4C framework of ICT i.e. Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity. The challenges of ICT across all dimensions in the four interrelated features: awareness, availability, accessibility, and affordability require improvement in order to reduce the digital divide. Security and privacy issues are key concerns that place an implicit cost on transactions.

Engineering discipline is the creative application of scientific innovations, which is always dynamic as new technologies are emerging often in response to the human need for development. The rapid pace of technological advancement gives birth to new disciplines of engineering, such as, nanotechnology, mechatronics or computer engineering. Engineering is regarded as the key driver to the human development. Thus, the event of engineering skills is significant for the social and economic development.

The advances in information technology have heavily influenced the engineering and management in several ways. The most important role of information technology is to provide computer aided design, relational database technologies, spreadsheets, and word processing software all provide a commercial benefit to the business, as does automation of manufacturing processes.
